South Ripley Elementary School is excited to announce the offering of Readiness Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year. Readiness Kindergarten will be an all day, every day Kindergarten class. Students in this class will be required to attend traditional kindergarten during the 2018-2019 school year. Readiness Kindergarten students will receive the same services as other SRES students
Any child who resides in the South Ripley Community School district, and is four years old on or before August 1, 2017, is eligible to apply for Readiness Kindergarten. Although all age-appropriate students are eligible, this program could be very beneficial for students who have not previously attended preschool or who may have academic needs. In order to best meet the needs of these students, the class will be capped at 20 students. This class will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The first 20 students to apply online, and meet the requirements, will be considered.
To apply for Readiness Kindergarten, parents/guardians must fill out an online Google form. This form will be posted on the South Ripley Elementary School web page (www.sripley.k12.in.us) on Monday, March 20 at 8:00 p.m. Paper copies of applications will not be accepted. SRES will contact parents of students who have applied for Readiness Kindergarten. These students and their parent/guardian will be invited to attend one of our Kindergarten registration days to officially register for the program. Students not accepted into the initial class of 20 students will be placed on a waiting listed. If a student moves or is dismissed from the program, the next student on the waiting list will be contacted and offered this spot.
Please contact the SRES office at 812-689-5383, with any questions. We look forward to serving your child.
