6.2 Magnitude Quake Hits Southern Alaska

(Anchorage, AK) — There are no reports of damage or injuries after a strong earthquake hit southern Alaska today. The USGS says the magnitude 6.2 quake struck at 9:51 a.m. Alaska Daylight Time and was centered about 80 miles northwest of Anchorage. No tsunami warnings or coastal watches are in effect.
