7.4 Quake Hits Off El Salvador Coast
(Undated) — Scientists say the threat of hazardous tsunami waves has mostly passed after a strong earthquake struck Monday night off the coast of El Salvador. The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude seven-point-four earthquake struck 66 miles south-southeast of the city of Usulutan . So far there are no reports of damage. Earthquakes badly damaged Usulutan in 2001.
