Apple Denies Beats Purchase Will Cost Jobs
(Undated) — Apple is batting down reports that its recent three-billion-dollar purchase of Dr. Dre’s Beats Electronics will cost the audio company as many as 200 jobs. According to “Billboard,” Apple spokesperson Tom Neumayr says they’ve “extended job offers to every Beats employee.” However, some of the jobs are only for a limited period because they overlap with existing positions at Apple. Apple promises it will try to find permanent jobs for those Beats employees. A source within Beats also says every employee is “going through Apple orientation” as well as signing up for their healthcare.
The European Commission recently approved Apple’s purchase of Beats under the European Union’s merger rules.
