Carrie Underwood Optimistic About Global Citizen Festival

(New York, NY) — Carrie Underwood is on board for this year’s Global Citizen Festival. The concert is centered around the United Nations General Assembly, and meant to bring attention to poverty around the world. And the country star thinks it can make a difference, because everyone has “the ability to make our world a better place.” Carrie explains that “positive change is possible when we work together, and this Festival is a hopeful opportunity for all of us to help see an end to extreme poverty.”

Underwood is joining Jay-Z, No Doubt, fun., and others for the third annual event, which will be staged at New York’s Central Park on September 27th. Those who want to go to the show can earn admission by visiting GlobalCitizen.org and taking action in the fight against extreme poverty. This year the concert will also be carried on TV. MSNBC will provide five hours of live coverage, while NBC will present an hour-long highlights special later the same night.
