Coal State Lawmakers Vow To Fight EPA Carbon Rules

(Undated) — Lawmakers from coal-producing states are promising to fight new strict limits on power plants that burn fossil fuels, especially coal. The rules the Environmental Protection Agency announced Monday would require a 30-percent cut in carbon emissions by 2030. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul calls the plan an “assault” on the economy and “illegal use of executive power.” In the House, West Virginia Democrat Nick Rahall says he and West Virginia Republican David McKinley will introduce a bill to stop the EPA plan.
