Dierks Bentley is being appointed to the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority board.

“The Tennessean” reports, Bentley was nominated by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry to fill the expired term of Rod Essig, a talent agent who co-heads the Nashville office of the Creative Artists Agency.

Bentley’s nomination is expected to be approved next month.

His position on the ten-member board is volunteer so he won’t receive any financial compensation.
