Insurance Premiums Grew Average 10% Before Obamacare

(Undated) — Health insurance premiums went up ten-percent a year, on average, in the three years before Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, according to a new study. The author of the report, out today, says researchers found that premiums went up a lot for some people and fell for others during the three years before the law known as Obamacare was passed in 2010. The law now requires insurance companies to report premium increases of more than ten-percent, and next year they’ll have to report all increases.
