McDonald’s Increases Q2 Earnings, Misses Expectations

(Oak Brook, IL) — The Golden Arches aren’t shining so brightly on Wall Street today. McDonald’s announced second quarter results that increased over the same quarter last year but badly missed expected levels. Earnings per share increased two cents to a dollar-40, but analysts expected a dollar-44 for the quarter. Earnings increased by 100-million dollars, but fell short of expectations by about that same amount. Shares of McDonald’s dropped in pre-market trading following the announcement.
