Pilot Episode Ordered For New Reba TV Drama

A new television drama starring Reba McEntire is getting the green light by ABC to shoot a pilot episode.

Described as a “Southern Gothic soap opera,” the hour-long show is centered around the small town of Oxblood, Kentucky following an act of terrorism at a Fourth of July parade.

McEntire told “The Tennessean,” “I play the female sheriff in a small town in the south and it’s very dark. It’s got funny times in it, but it is dark.”

“Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry will write the show’s script and serve as executive producer, alongside McEntire.
