According to a risk management company's study, Kentucky nursing homes pay more than other states to protect themselves from lawsuits, followed by West Viriginia. The Aon Risk Solutions report determined that Texas nursing homes pay the smallest premiums.

CarInsuranceComparison.com's "Worst Drivers" survey ranks the state second in deadly crashes caused by failure to obey traffic signals or seatbelt laws. Kentucky placed sixth in the death rate per 100-million vehicle miles traveled. Montana had the worst overall drivers.
