Come See New INDOT Garage Wednesday
(Aurora, Ind.) – An open house is planned for Wednesday, July 9 at the new Indiana Department of Transportation subdistrict location in Aurora.
The public can check out the new $4 million garage and office on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The 17,797 square foot facility is located at 10995 Marsh Road, just off U.S. 50, in Aurora.
The INDOT Aurora Subdistrict serves Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Switzerland, and parts of Decatur and Ripley counties. The Aurora garage serves as the subdistrict’s hub for maintenance activities.
Special recognition of the Aurora Fire Department will be made at 10:15 a.m. for its facility support to INDOT until the new subdistrict complex could be constructed.
The Aurora Subdistrict services 975 lane miles of state highways and interstates within the district. Those roadways include Interstate 74 and I-275; State Roads 1, 46, 48, 56, 62, 101, 129, 148, 156, 229, 250, 252, 262 and 350; and U.S. Highways 50, 52 and 421.
