13 Rounded Up In Franklin Co. Drug Investigation

(Laurel, Ind.) – Thirteen people were arrested during a weeks-long narcotics investigation in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrests in a news release issued Thursday.

Sheriff’s department investigators have been conducting the investigation that began in late July and continued through mid-August. They targeted drug activity in Laurel and Poesy Township.

Deputies executed four search warrants for residences: two on Stipps Hill Road, one on Lake Street and another on Buena Vista Road.

Arrested on July 22 at a Stipps Hill Road home were the following individuals with their charges listed:

Shelia Rose Halpin, 53, Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), and Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony).

A 17-year-old female for Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor), Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), and Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony).

Johnnie Raymond Hammons Jr., 28, Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor), Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor), Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), and Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony).

Terry Lance Pursifull, 27, Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor).

Anthony James Blevins, 22, Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor).

Travis William Barrow, 30, Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor).

 

Arrested on July 24 at the second Stipps Hill Road home were:

Johnnie Ray Hammons, 54, Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Ginseng (Class B Misdemeanor).

Kimberly L. Hammons, 49, Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Dealing in Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Ginseng (Class B Misdemeanor).

 

Arrested on July 29 at a home on Lake Street in Laurel were:

Tanya Littleton, 46, Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Ginseng (Class B Misdemeanor).

Justin Lee-Wayne Peters, 29, Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Ginseng (Class B Misdemeanor).

Larry A. Lewis, 54, Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class B Misdemeanor), Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

Richard David Reese, 25, Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony), Visiting a Common Nuisance (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).

On August 9, Arnold E. Bulmer, 58, was arrested at a residence on Buena Vista Road. Bulmer has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).
