16 Students Injured When Sunman-Dearborn Bus Overturns

(Connersville, Ind.) – Sixteen students were injured when a Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools crashed and fell on its side Tuesday.
The accident happened at Gray and Ziegler roads in Connersville on Tuesday afternoon as the bus was transporting the Sunman-Dearborn Middle School swim team to a swim meet at nearby Connersville High School.
Witnesses rushed to the aid of the 36 students, coaches, and the driver inside the bus.
Sunman-Dearborn Superintendent Andrew Jackson said the students were treated for minor injuries at Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville before being released to their parents.
Police are calling the crash an accident. The school bus will be inspected Wednesday by Indiana State Police.
