2 Dead In Indiana Plant Murder-Suicide
(Seymour, Ind.) – Two people are dead in a murder-suicide at an engine plant in Seymour, Indiana.
Indiana State Police have confirmed the scene is secure. The shooting at the Cummins Engine Plant occurred shortly after 8:30 Thursday morning.
WTHR-TV reports that an employee at the plant killed his boss before shooting himself.
Cummins Inc. released a statement confirming the shooting at its Seymour Technical Center.
“Authorities confirm there are two fatalities, both Cummins employees, and the all-clear for the facility has been given. We are working to support employees and their families at this time. We will provide further information as soon as it’s available,” the company stated.
Governor Mike Pence also released a statement on the reported shooting.
“Our hearts go out to the family of the victim of this senseless act of violence at the Cummins plant in Seymour earlier today. We commend local law enforcement for their swift response to this incident and will provide any and all support from Indiana State Police in the investigation,” Pence said.
