(Florence, Ky.) – Police say they have taken heroin off the street by busting a couple accused of supplying the drug to dealers in northern Kentucky.
The Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force arrested four people in Florence and Lexington Thursday, accusing them of dealing massive amounts of heroin. They are Florence residents Lauren Summers, 22, and Duran Wombles, 27. Two others taken into custody were Tamara Wombles, 28, of Elsmere, and Jesus Lizarraras-Estuoillo, of Lexington.
Police allegedly found a half-pound of black tar heroin and the first three individuals while serving search warrants at a home on Spring Street in Elsmere and at the Turfside Motel in Florence. Lizarraras-Estuoillo was arrested in Lexington, Kentucky as a search warrant for a home there resulted in the discovery of 1.5 pounds of heroin.
Investigators say the Wombles were supplying heroin to drug dealers throughout northern Kentucky. Detectives were allegedly able to purchase heroin from Summers and Duran Wombles.
Summers, Duran Wombles and Tamara Wombles are all charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and engaging in organized crime. Lizarraras-Estuoillo is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
