$47K Splash For Special Olympics
(Versailles, Ind.) – The Indiana Special Olympics Polar Plunge at the Versailles State Park raised a lot of money.
Plungers splashed into the ice-cold water at the park on Saturday, all to raise money for special olympians in Indiana.
The preliminary event fundraising total was $47,600, well over the 2011 total of $38,273, according to event organizer Greg Townsend.
Participation was also up this year as nearly 190 people took the plunge. Another 60 ran in the Polar Climb 5K.
