5th Child Molesting Conviction Puts Man In Prison For 12 Years

(Sunman, Ind.) – A child molester has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Cornelio Salinas, 40, allegedly molested a young girl at an Aurora residence between 2000 and 2002.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of Child Molesting (Class B felony) in Dearborn Circuit Court on February 18. Judge James Humphrey ordered Salinas to serve a sentence of 30 years with 18 years suspended to probation.

Salinas must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

He was given 1,026 days credit for time served in jail since his arrest in September of 2012. His earliest possible release date from state prison is September 19, 2018.

Salinas has prior convictions for Child Molesting in Dearborn County in 2010, 2008, 2006, and 200, according to the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Really please tell me this is a joke? This guy had 4 priors here in Dearborn County and nets 12 years which really means 6 if he is a good boy while he is in? How in the hell do you even see the light of day ever again after the 3rd one let alone not get maxed out for the 5th offense in a decade? This might even be more shameful than the Brewington witch hunt.
