$949K In Grants Earn L’burg Council Approval

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg City Council has approved of a list of generous grants to help food pantries, schools, fire departments, and other local organizations.

 

City council approved of 18 of the 21 grants recommended by the Dearborn Community Foundation during the October 21 council meeting. The grants approved by city council totaling $949,904 must still be approved by the Dearborn Community Foundation before they are awarded.

 

The three largest grant amounts were each $100,000. They were awarded to the Lawrenceburg Conservancy District, Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools, and the Southeastern Career Center

 

Following is a list of the grants approved by city council. Phase I grants are $5,000 or less and Phase II grants were over $5,000.

 

 

Phase I

Hillforest Historical Foundation, Inc.: $4,430 suggested, $4,430 approved

Dearborn County Clearing House: $5,000 suggested, $5,000 approved

Hoosier Hills Literacy League: $4,989.45 suggested, $3,000 approved

 

 

Phase II

Dillsboro Community Food Pantry: $8,350 suggested, $5,300 approved

Southeastern Career Center: $100,000 suggested, $100,000 approved

Dearborn County Historical Society, Inc.: $33,655 suggested, $15,000 approved

Aurora Fire Department: $88,000 suggested, $88,000 approved

Carnegie Historic Landmarks Preservation Society, Inc: $19,425 suggested, $19,425 approved

South Dearborn Community School Corporation: $80,000 suggested, $80,000 approved

Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation: $100,000 suggested, $100,000 approved

Dearborn County 4H Clubs Association: $11,500 suggested, $8,500 approved

People Working Cooperatively, Inc.: $20,000 suggested, $0 approved

Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church: $100,000 suggested, $0 approved

Dearborn County Park & Recreation Board: $97,900 suggested, $97,900 approved

Manchester Township: $100,000 suggested, $100,000 approved

Hogan Township Volunteer Fire Department: $94,000 suggested, $94,000 approved
