UPDATE: Motorcycle Crash In Aurora Stemmed From Domestic Disturbance

Update published at 3:34 p.m.: 

New information has been released regarding a serious motorcycle crash in Aurora.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Fifth Street on Friday afternoon.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers say James Zervos, 52, fled on a motorcycle. However, Zervos was not pursued due to his reckless actions.

Shortly after fleeing the scene, Zervos crashed his motorcycle on U.S. 50 near the intersection of Billingsley Drive.

Officers believe Zervos lost control of his motorcycle while traveling at a high rate of speed before hitting a guardrail.

Zervos was airlifted to University Hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time regarding the domestic disturbance.


Update published at 1:08 p.m.:

The accident scene on U.S. 50 in Aurora has been cleared. The highway has reopened to traffic in both directions.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Air Care is being responding to the scene of a serious motorcycle crash in Aurora.

The wreck occurred on U.S. 50 at Billingsley Drive at around 12:20 p.m. Friday. A male riding the motorcycle was injured, according to radio communications.

Authorities have closed both directions of U.S. 50 at the crash scene.
