Greendale Police Dept.

(Greendale, Ind.) – An icy interstate ramp was the scene of a crash Monday morning.

At about 5:43 a.m.,  Greendale Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries on the Interstate 275 off ramp near U.S. 50, according to Sgt. Kevin Turner. Officers arrived to find a blue 2004 Hyundai Tiberon driven by Raleigh Feltner, 21, of Alexandria, Kentucky, wrecked partially in the lane of the off-ramp from Ohio.

Feltner told officers that snowy and icy conditions on the off-ramp from Kentucky caused his vehicle to spin, strike the concrete barrier wall, and spin again through the ditch into the off ramp from Ohio.

Feltner and a passenger each suffered minor injuries. They received treatment at the scene from Greendale EMS, but refused transport to the hospital. Police said the two were wearing seatbelts and benefitted from airbags.

The roadway remained open except for about five minutes while a wrecker removed the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be involved.
