Alleged Butter Knife Battery Lands Wife In Jail

(Aurora, Ind.) – An Aurora woman is accused of attacking her husband with a butter knife.

Cindy L. Powell, 50, was booked into the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on a charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 felony) on Saturday, July 26.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident transpired on Monday, July 21 when Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic situation at the Powell’s home on Hogan Creek Road.

When deputies arrived they found Christopher Powell lying on the living room floor with a puncture wound to his upper left chest area. He told police that Cindy Powell stabbed him in the chest with a butter knife while he was standing in the kitchen.

Cindy Powell allegedly stated that she stabbed her husband while in a confrontation with him.

Christopher Powell was taken to Dearborn County Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
