The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting the low-cost airline will announce Tuesday the addition of twice weekly nonstop flights to Las Vegas later this year.

CVG tweeted that the flights will start December 18, with an introductory one-way fare price of $81.

Allegiant, which is based in Las Vegas, has grown rapidly since coming to CVG in February with flights to Orlando and Punta Gorda, Florida. It has steadily added popular destinations for business and vacation travelers since, including July’s announcement that service to Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix will begin in November. Allegiant also flies to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

A recent analysis of airfares by the federal government found that Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport had the highest average ticket price in the nation in the first quarter of 2014 at $514. That figure is expected to come down as Allegiant Air and fellow discount carrier Frontier Airlines grow their offering of flights at CVG.
