(Grant County, Ky.) – A Noah’s Ark theme park planned in northern Kentucky may not be sunk after all.

The Ark Encounter park planned just off Interstate 75 in Grant County is another effort by Answers in Genesis, the same group behind the Creation Museum in Petersburg.

The $173 million amusement park to feature a life-sized replica of Noah’s Ark was announced in 2011 and was originally scheduled to be completed this year. So far, it has not broken ground.

Answers in Genesis said Wednesday that an announcement about the park’s future will be made by AiG president and CEO Ken Ham on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. According to AiG, the update will include a report on what has been accomplished in the design of the Ark Encounter themed attraction, the preparation of the land, and on the effort to raise bond funding.

The announcement will be streamed live at www.ArkEncounter.com.
