Arrest Made For April Fatal Crash In Boone Co.

(Florence, Ky.) – A man has been arrested and charged for a fatal crash in Boone County earlier this year.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say Maxwell Detzel was intoxicated when his Camaro crossed the center line and collided with two vehicles on Dixie Highway in Florence this past April.

The crash killed Joshua Ray, 26, of Fort Mitchell, and critically injured two others. Police reported that none of the drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Detzel, 23, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree (Felony), Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (Felony), Assault 4th Degree (Misdemeanor), and DUI 2nd Offense Aggravator (Misdemeanor).

He is currently lodged in the Boone County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
