(St. Leon, Ind.) – The Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools Board of Trustees could decide Thursday whether to add an artificial turf athletic field at East Central High School.

The topic has been discussed at other recent board meetings, and approval of the turf field appears on the agenda for Thurday’s school board meeting.

Artificial turf on Trojan Field would allow the East Central football team, other teams, and the band to use the field more than 200 times each year, as opposed to fewer than 40 times last school year.

The board may also hire a new East Central High School principal Thursday. A high school principal contract also appears on the agenda.

The school board meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the East Central High School library.
