(Harrison, Oh.) – City of Harrison residents were given the 4-1-1 about things happening in the community at the annual State of the Community Address Thursday morning.
The 5th Annual Greater Harrison Chamber of Commerce State of the Community Address featured Mayor Bill Neyer, Councilman Hank Meninger and Southwest Local Schools Superintendent John Hamstra as it guest speakers.
Mayor Neyer reviewed what happened in 2017 and gave some insight to future plans around Harrison, including JTM expansion, the building of hundreds of new homes, and construction of new schools.
Councilman Hank Meninger elaborated on those future plans by highlighting the city’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan that will see the construction of a new Duke facility, improvements to the Dry Fork Road interchange, and continued downtown revitalization.
The recently passed $100 million school levy was also discussed by Superintendent John Hamstra. He also touched on the hot topic of school safety, in addition to praising district schools for their academic achievements.
