(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Instead of the D.C. Beltway, Indiana U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly (D) is taking the scenic route along the Ohio River this week.

Donnelly – who hails from South Bend in northern Indiana – is using his summer break from the Senate to visit towns along the river in southern Indiana. He started his Wednesday by appearing live in-studio with Eagle 99.3.

“This is a chance to get out there and try to meet as many people as possible. We go over, for instance, a lot of our cities have road issues or other issues that we try to get squared away,” the first term senator said.

After his radio appearance, the senator then met with Lawrenceburg city officials at Beebs and Bubs Restaurant. He departed for Rising Sun where he was to get a tour of redevelopment sites in downtown Rising Sun. Other stops Wednesday include lunch at Granny’s Restaurant in Vevay and Cocoa Safari Chocolates in Madison.
