(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A number of local organizations are holding public service events on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

As they do almost every MLK Day, the congregation at Union Valley Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg will march through downtown. Led by Pastor Sheldon Rox, the march will start at the Dearborn County Courthouse at 3:30 p.m. and proceed to the church at 530 Martin Luther King Dr. A program will then take place at the church featuring Lawrenceburg High School students and guest speaker Bob Ewbank, a local attorney and historian.

The Legal Volunteers of Southeastern Indiana are having their annual Talk to a Lawyer Today program. You can learn more about that here or listen to the interview with local attorneys Alan Miller and Adrienne Flannery in the audio player below.

The Boone County Library in Burlington says it is a one-stop shop for giving back Monday. Several groups are gathering there from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. to make hope notes for victims of domestic violence and drug addicts. They will also assemble blessing bags for the homeless.
