(Aurora, Ind.) – Aurora residents will be brought up to speed on a planned reconstruction of Second Street.
Infrastructure improvements for Second Street between U.S. 50 and Judiciary Street are due to begin this spring.
“The City of Aurora will be replacing the water line, all city sidewalks with ADA accessible crosswalks followed by two-inch mill and asphalt paving,” City Manager Guinevere Emery said.
Second Street will be expanded to a two-way street between Main and Judiciary streets. Additional parking will be created at Gabbard Riverfront Park. There could even be decorative brick crosswalks installed.
Emery says a meeting will be held Wednesday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Aurora City Hall for discussion of the project. A project timeline, business entry transition plan, and alternate parking options will be shared.
Mayor Donnie Hastings Jr., members of Aurora City Council, Emery, the city’s utilities director, and representatives from HWC Engineering will be there.
