Aurora Man Goes On Trial For Alleged Molestation

(Versailles, Ind.) – An alleged child molester’s jury trial will take place this week at the Ripley County Courthouse in Versailles.

Carl Gleason, of Aurora, is charged with two counts of Child Molesting (Class A felony), Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Class B felony), Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Class C felony), and Vicarious Sexual Gratification (Class C felony).

Jury selection is taking place Monday in Ripley Circuit Court. The trial will start Tuesday. Ripley County Prosecutor Ric Hertel expects it to wrap up either Wednesday or Thursday.

Gleason, 55, allegedly molested a child in Versailles between 2004 and 2008. He was charged in June 2013.

If he is convicted by the jury, Gleason could be sentenced to 20 to 50 years in prison.
