Aurora Police Say $6,500 In iPhones Stolen From Walmart
By Mike Perleberg
(Aurora, Ind.) – Several iPhones valued at a total of $6,500 were swiped from the Walmart store in Aurora.
Aurora Police say two male subjects entered the supercenter off of U.S. 50 at about 2:47 p.m. Thursday, February 13. They approached the connection center, but as the electronic associate became occupied with another customer, one of the men crouched down to see an unlocked display case.
The other male shielded the view as the first crouched down again and began taking the phones from the case, says Chief of Police Josh Daugherty. The phones were loaded into a cart of previously selected merchandise.
The suspects took the cart to the store’s grocery sectionwhere they concealed the phones into their jackets before exiting the store.
Investigators said the subject then left in a possibly reds BMW, with what appeared to be possibly Ohio plates.
Police have released surveillance photos from the theft. Anybody who may recognize the subject or have information that could help investigators are asked to call the Aurora Police Department at (812) 926-1101.
