(Greendale, Ind.) – Two individuals were arrested on drug charges after a hit and run in Hamilton County.
Greendale Police responded to a gas station on Bellview Drive on July 7 to locate the vehicle in the alleged hit and run.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a witness told police that a black Chevrolet Silverado was driving erratically on I-275 near I-74, before slamming into the back of a mini-van that was stopped near another accident scene.
The vehicle then fled the scene before eventually stopping at a gas station in Greendale. It was there that police located the vehicle and identified the driver as Richard Blanton.
Police say Blanton admitted to being the driver in the accident, and stated he was driving because his passenger, Wendy Davis, 23, of Aurora, was too intoxicated on controlled substances.
Blanton and Davis were both searched. Police say they found a capped syringe in Blanton’s pocket, and second syringe in Davis’ pocketbook.
Both were taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Syringe (level 6 felony).
