(Batesville, Ind.) – She’s young, but ready for the challenge of leading the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Anna Ibold is 26-years-old. She was selected October 20 to replace former director Melissa Tucker. Tucker, who resigned in September, grew the chamber to more than 300 members from just a few core businesses when she started 13 years ago and served as director for the last eight.

Ibold feels her age makes her just right for the job.

“I know there are probably some that wonder if I have enough experience. I do have experience. I think I can bring fresh, new energy to the chamber and some new ideas,” Ibold says.

Ibold previously served as a board member and vice president with the Sunman Area Chamber of Commerce. She worked in marketing at Sunman-based Enhanced Telecommunications Corporation for more than seven years, a position that allowed her to have a built-in relationship with many chamber member businesses as she comes into her new role.

The new director starts on November 1. She admits that there will be a learning curve, but looks forward to getting to know what the members expect from the chamber.

“Being a non-profit, funding is always a challenge that everybody has in the back of their minds, but to keep that from being a challenge as an organization we’ll reach out to our members and show them the benefits of being involved with the chamber,” she says.

Ibold is a graduate of East Central High School and Indiana University East. She also worked with Eagle Country 99.3 during her high school days.
