(Batesville, Ind.) – Two southeast Indiana schools have been recognized for their academic excellence.
The Indiana Department of Education released its second round of Four Star Schools for the 2015-16 school year on Friday. Among the recipients were Batesville High School and Oldenburg Academy.
“Indiana is full of great schools providing exceptional education throughout all four corners of our state,” said Adam Baker, Indiana Department of Education Press Secretary. “After receiving feedback from the field, we reevaluated our criteria in an effort to ensure we captured all schools deserving of Four Star recognition.”
To receive Four Star designation, a school must receive an “A” on the state’s A-F accountability system, have excellent ISTEP pass rates, carry overall high graduation rate (if applicable), and show success in closing achievement gaps.
Including round one, a total of 248 schools received the award.
