Bier, Essen, Musik Und Mehr Bei Freudenfest

(Oldenburg, Ind.) – Get your German on in Oldenburg this weekend.
The 41st annual Freudenfest will take place in the Village of Spires on Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15. It is billed as the biggest little German festival in the U.S.
Activities start at 5:00 p.m. Friday, including the Burgermeister Proclamation, the Bier Slide, and live traditional German music and dancing with Germania Jagdhorn Blasergruppe, the FNF Band and others.
Saturday’s happenings include the Freudenfest 5K at 10:00 a.m., German and Hoosier chicken dinners at noon, dachshund races at 2:00 p.m., the Schnitzelbank Salute at 3:30, and the bier stein holding competition finals at 7:41.
Bring your lederhosen for more music and dancing with Die Fledermauschen Tanzgruppe, Eureka German Band, Austin Tyler Lee Band, Pros’t Band, and The Rheingold Band.
You can become a judge in the Freudenfest Homemade Wine Contest for $5 per person starting at 3:00 Saturday.
