(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Warmer weather is here and Lawrenceburg Main Street is celebrating the beginning of an event filled summer here in Downtown Lawrenceburg.
The 2014 season opening of the Historic Lawrenceburg Farmers Market will be celebrated this Saturday, May 17th with the Bluegrass and Country music of Feller and Hill from 10 to 12 noon. There will be vegetable and flower plants, some first of the season produce, garden products from Worm’s Way, baked goods, and crafts. Market hours are 9:00 to 1:00 on Saturdays. A Thursday market from 4:00 to 8:00 will begin on June 5th and continue throughout the Music on the River season. The market is located on East High Street next to Books on High.

A block away from the Farmer’s Market, Cyclops Bikes will be hosting the First Annual Spring Reunion and Bike Swap from 8:00 – 2:00. There will be collectable, antique, vintage and regular “old “bikes available from the various vendors who will fill the parking lot on Vine, next to the Library. Grandma’s biscuits and gravy, Mrs. B’s homemade sticky buns and coffee will be sold. All concession proceeds will go to the St. Lawrence 7th grade for their trip to assist residents in Appalachia.
At the foot of the Levee on Walnut St. runners and walkers will be gathering for the AIM Young Professionals of Dearborn County 3rd Annual 5k. Registration opens at 8am with the race / walk beginning at 9am. The funds raised will be used for scholarship awards to Dearborn County High School students, as well as support for the Maverick Challenge Business Competition for area high school students.
