(Cincinnati, Oh.) – A driver who caused a crash that seriously injured a West Harrison woman has been criminally charged.
Christopher Benter, 27, of Cleves, was operating a pickup truck that crossed the center line on U.S. 50/Three Rivers Parkway at Sekitan Avenue in Addyston on April 11. The truck collided head-on with a car driven by Sarah Kern, 31, of West Harrison.
Kern, who was on her way to work that morning, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
On Tuesday, Benter was charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault. According to investigators, a recently completed toxicology test on Benter determined that he had high levels of marijuana in his blood at the time of the crash.
Benter suffered minor injuries in the wreck. Police said at the time that drugs were believed to have played a factor in the crash, but that speeding was not a contributor.
