Boone Co. Fiscal Court Approves Two Sidewalk Extension Projects

(Burlington, Ky.) – The Boone County Fiscal Court is aggressively working to improve pedestrian connectivity throughout the county.

The Fiscal Court recently approved two projects the will extend the sidewalks in Burlington from Darlington Drive along KY 18 to Veteran’s Way.

The extension will connect pedestrian paths currently being constructed by the State along KY 18 and 237.

Boone County Judge Executive Gary Moore says a second project will add a pedestrian path on Cayton Road beginning at Hopeful Church and will connect to Blackstone Drive.

In addition to the county-sponsored initiatives, a number of federally funded projects are currently in development including; pedestrian paths along Litton Lane in Hebron, Frogtown Road in Union, Idlewild Road in Burlington, as well as, a pedestrian bridge over the railroad at High Street in Walton.
