(Burlington, Ky.) – Police are looking to identify a person of interest in a number of recent thefts from vehicles in Boone County.

Some of the thefts occurred March 15 at England-Idlewild Park on Idlewild Road in Burlington. The day before, other vehicles were hit in Florence and Park Hills. Boone County Sheriff’s investigators say the thieves targeted cars with purses and wallets locked inside, smashing out windows to take the items.

The suspect wrote forged checks stolen from victims of the Park Hills and Florence thefts to one of the victims of the England-Idlewild Park thefts using that victim’s checking deposit ticket and personal ID. The transactions were completed at banks in Highland Heights, Taylor Mill, Alexandria, Kentucky and Monfort Heights, Ohio.
