(Hebron, Ky.) – A memorial for the first deadly plane crash in Boone County history will be dedicated next weekend.

TWA Flight 694 collided with a private plane shortly after takeoff from Boone County Airport (now the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport) the morning of January 12, 1955. The crash claimed the lives of all 15 people involved. The two aircraft crashes into property along Limaburg Road.

A marker memorializing the crash will be located near the crash scene not far from the intersection of Kentucky 237 and Wright Boulevard in Hebron. A dedication ceremony is set for 4:30 Sunday afternoon, September 23.

Records state the private plane involved in the crash had not received clearance to be flying in the area when it was hit by the jet bound for Cleveland.
