Boy On Bike Hit By Pickup Truck

(Milan, Ind.) – A boy had to be flown to the hospital via helicopter after he collided with a pickup truck while riding his bicycle in Milan.

On Saturday night about 10:30, officers from the Milan Police Department and Ripley County Sheriff’s Office were called to the intersection on State Road 101 and East Carr Street.

According to a Tuesday press release from Milan Police, Brandon Barrett was driving a pickup truck making a left turn onto East Carr Street when the truck collided with the bicycle.

The unidentified male juvenile was taken by aircare to University of Cincinnati Medical Center  for injuries to his legs. The 12-year-old boy was reported to be recovering as of Monday.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing by the Milan Police Department.

Milan Police thanked the sheriff’s office and Milan Fire Department for assisting at the scene.
