(Osgood, Ind.) – Ripley County Sheriff’s Office detectives are trying to determine who broke into a local animal shelter.

The Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W County Road 150 North, in Osgood was found to have been burglarized sometime before the report was made to police at about 7:30 Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office did not say what was stolen or if the thief – or thieves – made off with any shelter animals. Indiana State Police evidence technicians assisted in processing the crime scene.

No arrests have been announced by the sheriff’s office as of Monday morning. Anybody with information that might help investigators is asked to call the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 689-5555.

According to the organization’s website, the Ripley County Humane Society shelter survives solely on donations.
