(Aurora, Ind.) – Aurora first responders must have been hoping for a good night’s rest after a day full of emergency calls.

Firefighters at the Aurora Fire Department responded to three separate vehicle crashes and a fire on Sunday.

Fire Chief Jeff Lane tells Eagle Country 99.3 his department was called to assist with a four-vehicle wreck on U.S. 50 at West Conwell Street. Aurora Police, Indiana State Police, and Aurora EMS assisted.

As firefighters were working that crash, they got a call for smoke in the building at the Long John Silver’s restaurant on U.S. 50 near Sycamore Estates Drive. Aurora and Lawrenceburg fire investigators determined that an electrical issue was responsible for causing a light haze in the building, forcing the restaurant to close.

Later on, Aurora and Dillsboro firefighters responded to a second vehicle accident on U.S. 50 at West Conwell. A vehicle had crashed over the embankment there. Aurora EMS and Aurora Police again assisted.

Lastly, firefighters had to split off to a second accident involving an overturned truck on Cole Lane at Myra Lane. Dillsboro EMS and the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department assisted at that crash scene.
