VIDEO: You Can Hear The Ohio River Freezing
By Mike Perleberg
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The water in the Ohio River is becoming ice Tuesday.
The river waters began to freeze from bank-to-bank at Lawrenceburg as temperatures overnight sank as low as -7.

Although the river surface was frozen, the ice still appeared to be slowly flowing downstream. Spectators heading to the levee could hear the river giving off a “crackling” sound as the ice fragments rubbed one another.
Not that Eagle 99.3 would recommend it in any case, the ice is certainly not thick enough to walk on.
