(Whitewater Township, Oh.) – What was supposed to be a lazy afternoon on the river turned into a brawl Sunday.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies say 30 to 40 people were either involved in or witnessed a fight on the Whitewater River where it meets Dry Fork Creek around 4:00 p.m., WKRC-TV reported.

At least two people were treated for minor injuries. There was a report that one woman was knocked unconscious in the fight.

Two men were charged with disorderly conduct. Green Acres Canoe and Kayak Rental banned them both for life.

Deputies said alcohol may have played a role in the fight.

"You know nothing and if your going to insult someone for intelligence, I suggest, you learn to spell the word. Worry about your own family history, Joni. I wasn't out to insult you, just to make a point that not everyone that goes canoeing is drinking or not being responsible. I think everyone has to responsible for their own actions up to some point instead of blaming a business. I have been going canoeing for many years and have not had the first incident. You can talk about my family history, and say things about my children but I wouldn't stoop to your level."

This comment was left in response to a comment I made...." i agree that Green Acres could and should limit what can be taken on the canoes, but when did parents stop being responsible for their children? This includes behaving in a responsible manner."

NO WHERE...in my post did i insult anyone's family name or history........I simply stated that parents are responsible for their children, including their behavior and the behavior they allow their children to be around.  Its time to start taking responsibilty for our own actions, and stop blaming others....as far as learning to spell, maybe you should learn to read, since my post did not even have the word "intelligence" in it..

Drinking goes on everywhere.  Reds Games, football, racing.  I take my children to Green Acres during the week and pretty much have the creek to myself.  it has been a pleasant experience every time I go.

It is not illegal to have an open container on the river. As with everything, you are going to have the few that aren’t responsible and do get inebriated (which is illegal – and happens at many other functions that just canoeing) but, my question to all you people that want everything controlled, is when does personal accountability come into play.Let’s just teach our children that our government should make all the rules for us because we are too stupid to do it ourselves??I have always found Green Acres to be one of the more intolerant businesses to drunkenness on the water.I have seen far more craziness on the river at Morgan’s and Whitewater than Green Acres.Just because some people get drunk and act stupid that doesn’t mean you people get the right to make the rules for everyone and I agree wholeheartedly that those few should be banned by the rental companies.I mean, honestly, why don’t we just sue the alcohol companies for making us drink this horrible stuff and acting stupid. And McDonald’s for making us fat.And the car companies for making a car that goes too fast and gets me a ticket.Let us no longer dismiss individuals from their own personal accountability.

Lets control everything and blame others for our actions...   If your old enough to buy it   take what you want where you want and when you want. You ppl want everything controlled  until it affects something you like. I have seen ppl go nuts on to much coffee  lets blame folgers and limit it to one cup.

Oh good grief, when will people started being accountabile for their actions and stop placing blame on everyone else.  Every canoe rental place I have been to (and I have been to all three) let beer be taken. Sheeez!!

Green Acres is responsible for the increase in "cabrewing". They need to be held responsible since they promote this drunken behavior. No more family fun on the river, let's all get drunk and do what we want.

You're kidding, right? Cause if you aren't, I didn't know a person could be so ignorant!

Green Acres could limit what is taken on the canoes and should. To promote drinking when little ones are also on the river is juvenile and reckless.

As daddy said, It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Thanks for telling it like it is smartjw.

It's not right to bring your kids canoeing thru hoards of people hanging on beaches getting high and drunk.

Not that Green Acres cares. They dont. And they won't limit the alcohol brought down river or the volume of traffic on this little river because they don't care about people's kids or the wildlife living there. Not so long as everyone brings cash!

@smartjw   really you sound like a real freaking piece of work. I personally have had my family at Green acres along with all my friends families and we had plenty of family fun. Why don't ya just put that stick a little farther up your ass.

@smartjw i agree that Green Acres could and should limit what can be taken on the canoes, but when did parents stop being responsible for their children?  This includes behaving in a responsible manner.

BillyBob, your lack of intelligance is not suprising given your family history. Keep taking "your"(?) children cabrewing and see what they turn into.

@smartjw  Excuse me...you can take your children to a Reds game, football game, races and you will see people drinking. Why is Green Acres getting so much slack for it?  Name an event that doesn't serve alcohol.   unfortunately alcohol is legal. as far as insulting Billy on his family name.  My name is Walston and take offense to that.   what the heck does a family history have anything to do with how we raise our family?  My son is 13 and is respectful, smart and wears his pants around his waist.  Ask anyone and they will tell you he is the most polite child who say please and thank you.  You on the other hand hide behind a screen name so you can leave smart ass comments and insult people.
