Nancy Spivey is explaining her decision to rescind her acceptance of the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce’s new executive director.

“I have accepted a role with the YWCA Greater Cincinnati. I have notified (Chamber Board of Directors Chairman) Mark Banschbach that I’d love to assist the Chamber as a volunteer but could not accept the Director opportunity at this time,” Spivey tells Eagle 99.3.

The chamber has not announced a new choice for executive director since Friday’s announcement that Spivey, a Dearborn County native, would not be filling the position after all.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Barely more than a day after announcing a new executive director, the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce is looking to fill the role once again.

The chamber announced on Wednesday that Nancy Spivey, of Erlanger, had accepted the position of the chamber’s executive director. On Friday, the chamber sent out a notice stating that Spivey rescinded her acceptance of the position offered.

Spivey, who is currently with the Chief Operating Officer of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, was supposed to begin her now role on April 1, the chamber said last week. A request for comment Monday morning was not immediately answered.

The Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce has not announced their next choice for director. Mark Neff has been serving as interim director since April of 2013.
