City Of Aurora Accepting Applications For Facade Improvement Program
By Travis Thayer
(Aurora, Ind.) – As part of its downtown revitalization plan, the City of Aurora is now accepting applications for its Façade Improvement Program.
The program was created in 2016 to improve the street appearance of historic downtown Aurora businesses as a way to stimulate the business environment within the downtown area.
The Façade Improvement Matching Grant Program provides an opportunity for residential and commercial properties located within the core business district to receive a grant that is limited to exterior preservation, restoration, or rehabilitation.
Grant awards may not exceed a total of $5,000 during a 12-month period for actual construction costs. All grants awarded are required a matching dollar-for-dollar expenditure by the owner or tenant.
The minimum project application is $25. Applications are due to the City Manager Office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31.
