(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Southeastern Indiana Congressman – and now Senate candidate – Luke Messer will meet with local voters this week.

Messer, a Republican, is set to hold a public meet and greet at Captain’s Tavern, 1 West High Street, in Lawrenceburg on Thursday, August 3 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The event was announced in an email from Dearborn County Commissioner Kevin Lynch.

Messer will be in town Thursday for his annual Sixth Congressional District Job Fair happening at Ivy Tech Community College from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.

“This year’s job fair should be another great event, with many area employers recruiting workers for high quality, good-paying jobs,” Messer said in a news release Monday. “We invite anyone looking for a job or new career to join us, and see what the Lawrenceburg community has to offer.”

Messer is also scheduled to appear on the Eagle Country 99.3 airwaves for a live interview Thursday morning.

Last week, Messer became the first candidate to declare he would run as a Republican in 2018 for the Indiana U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democratic U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly. Dearborn County Democrats are planning a reception with Donnelly at Great Crescent Brewery in Aurora on Tuesday, August 29. The price per ticket to that event will be $35.
