(Batesville, Ind.) – A woman was hurt and a telephone pole was split apart in a crash on Coonhunters Road in Batesville Wednesday.

Batesville Police say the crash occurred at about 12:20 p.m. at the intersection with County Road 1350 North.

The driver, Dawn Spurlock, of Batesville, was travellign southbound on Coonhunters Road when she lost control of her blue Chevrolet suburban. The vehicle left the roadway and traveled into a ditch, where the driver then over corrected and went left of center striking the utility pole. The SUV came to a rest on its side against a tree.

Spurlock was taken to Margaret Mary Health by Batesville EMS to be checked out.

Coonhunters Road was closed for a short time following the crash as electric wires were on the ground.

Police believe the driver over correcting caused the crash.
